Are my daughter and husband crazy?

Our family is upper cl and both my husband and I come from good families. However, my daughter finds it necessary to search the hell hole on the other side of town for a boyfriend. His name is Joshua and he goes to my daughter's private school (on scholarship for basketball because lord knows his family couldn't pay for it themselves). I don't mind my daughter dating boys it's just boys like that. You can't imagine what it makes me look like in front of my friends, a daughter going out with trash from the other side of town. So, last week my husband and I had to take the car to the auto shop and that boy is there. Apparently he works there. Now my crazy husband thinks the world of the boy. The whole car ride home it was , "I think he's a really nice boy. Straight A's, plays sports, and hey he's even an auto mechanic." I'm trying to be indifferent to him and letting my daughter know it doesn't bother me that they're dating because this is probably just her way of rebelling against me. I just don't understand what's going on in my daughter's head right now. She could be going out with a nice boy from our side of the town. Like Curtis my neighbor's son, however she called him scrawny, lazy, and stupid. She could be going on dates to plays and ballets and dinner in nice restaurants, but instead she choses the fair, his baseball and basketball games, ice-skating, movies, and and after game pizza at the Mellow Mushroom. Plus she's skipping out on the Sunday brunches that our group of friends always has to go to church with him. How do I become more tolerant of him and what does my daughter see in this boy?
